Quest One: The Golden Fleece

Part One: A rift in Astraeus, the telling of the Quest

The rift in space wasn't the first. But in it, came three Cylopes' brothers at the most inconvenient location. Through the portal they came, not knowing where they were. The Golden Fleece shown brightly in front of them, and they knew that they would have it. They each lunged for it, not caring what got in their way. They grabbed it quickly, and jumped back through Astraeus's accident as quick as they came. No one would know of this until the next morning. And Chiron would have three demigods go on a quest. To retrieve the Fleece.

Chiron had requested that Annmarie, Caleb, and Avery met him at the Big House. He had important news.

Avery tossed on a pair of flower sweats and put her hair in a pony tail. She was supposed to meet Chiron at the big house and wanted to be there quick. She smiled at her plain reflection in the old mirror and sat it down on her King bed. She looked out the window at Chiron and ran out side, slamming the door behind her.

Caleb had heard the news that he was supposed to meet Chiron. He slipped on his Camp Half Blood Shirt under a green sweater, and wore jeans and sneakers. He walked slowly, not knowing what to expect.

Avery's quick pace slowed to a steady paced walk. She walked around the dining area towards the Big house. She saw Chiron and walked over to him with a smile on her pale face.

Annmarie gave a luxirious stretch in her bed, then got out. She had been requested to meet Chiron at the Pavilion. She pulled on her orange Camp Half Blood long-sleeved shirt, a pair of dark wash denim shorts, and her best converse. She pinned back her bangs, and brushed out the rest of her hair, and put her wooden flute in her pocket. As s After she stood up and walked out of the Apollo cabin, shuttting the door softly. As she walked to the pavilion, she brushed her fingers lightly over the flute, carved with musical notes and suns, a gift from her father, as well as a weapon. It was still night, and the sun would be rising in a matter of minutes. She reached the pavilion, and sat on a stray bench. Annmarie brought her knees to her chest and looked to the sky. The sun had risen, but the sky looked gray and dull. She looked around. Everything was coated in gray. Annmarie felt out of place with her bright orange shirt. The fields seeped with fog and the trees seemed wilted. What was wrong? She knew that her, Avery, and Caleb were in trouble. Why else would all of there parents be down? Zeus, allowing the gray clouds to roll in. Demeter, letting the plants wilt. Apollo, making the sun shine less. She waited impatiently for Chiron, she really wanted to get to the bottom of this.

Chiron cleared his throat as the three approached. "Welcome, chose few," He said, pride shining in his voice. "Let me tell you a story."

Averys eyes filled with hope. She looked deep into his eyes as she listened. She tucked some hair behind her shoulder and shifted her weight to her left legs.

"Last night, we had some visitors," Chiron started.

Caleb looked VERY anxious, yet excited. His first quest.... He knew it had to be! Thank Demeter, he thought. Thank Chiron.

"And something was stolen. Of ours."

Caleb's nervousness turned to fear. Who could steal something from Camp Half Blood?

Annmarie looked at him, her eye shining with thoughts. She needed to know what had happened. What had been stolen? And who was going on the quest?

"Leaving without a trace. Or so they thought," He said grimly. "We know for a fact that it was three Cyclopes'....rather scary and big for their kind... brothers that came through a rip in Astraeus, in space. They stole our Golden Fleece. And you three are going to find it."

Annmarie's mouth dropped open. She raised her hand, much like a student to a teacher. Without waiting to be called on she spoke.
"But how do we retrieve them without being killed, and what powers to Cyclopes have?"
She asked.

Avery smiled, the pride of going on her first quest filled her heart with pride. Her pale face looked proud and held a mighty look. Before she thought this over, Annmarie was right, how would the make it out alive?

Annmarie sighed and shared a look with Avery like we're doomed. With an effort she tried to listen to Chiron's logic without criticizing it in her mind.
